CoPilot Limo Bicycle Child Seat Description

TheCoPilot Limo, as the name suggests, is a luxury ride for your child. It’s highly adjustable, to fit any child perfectly (up to 40 pounds) – the seat reclines, and the footwells can be set to fit the length of your child’s legs.

It’s also one of the most comfortable bike child carriers available – in addition to the reclining seat, the seat is lined with 3/4″ gel padding that will keep your little one comfortable on even long bike rides. The “grab bar” is another great feature – not only do kids appreciate having it to hang onto, but it provides extra security in addition to the 3-point harness. And you don’t need to remove it to get your child in and out of the seat – it simply folds up and back, out of the way.

Limo vs Flipper

In many respects, the CoPilot Limo is similar to the Kettler Flipper – the primary difference is probably the way they are mounted to your bicycle: the Limo mounts onto a luggage rack (included), while the Flipper does not use a luggage rack.

Trying to choose between the two? Well, if you’d like to be able to carry cargo or pannier bags when your child is not riding along, go with the Limo – the rack is a quality, lightweight Blackburn model that will prove quite useful. However, if the only thing you plan to haul is your child in his or her seat, then the Flipper should be perfect for your needs.

Differences between the CoPilot Taxi & Limo

– Limo features a reclining seat
– Limo’s footwells are adjustable
– Limo seat pad made from ultra-plush gel
– Limo grab bar simply folds down into position – the Taxi’s is quick-release

Not very easy to install the rack. The seat is very easy to install, but the rack is not. I recommend to install the rack at a bike’s store… and make sure that your kid likes the helmet!

I’ve owned this for 7 years – bought it for our first son when he was one. Very comfy and safe ride. Great clearance for the adult and child so neither one of you is squished against the other. I’ve also used it with our daughter. She was completely protected when I tipped over on my bike (younger boy cut us off) and she had no hesitation in keeping riding. Fits very well from age 1 to about 4 yrs (our daughter has now turned 4 and is just about too big for it). No issues with it at all, we’re very happy with it and would highly recommend it.

The seat itself is nice, the padding, harness, footrest all work out fine. After much research, we chose this seat because of the reclining backrest. In reality the seat does not recline enough in order for the head (with helmet) of the child to remain upright while sleeping. My son fell asleep on his first ride and his head ended up hanging forward, resting with the helmet visor on the safety bar. In that position the otherwise perfect harness ends up scratching his neck. We also tried to get a less bulky helmet (we have a Giro ME2, which we love)but the problem remained. Maybe without helmet his head would remain up, but I’d rather keep him safe…without the advantage of the reclining backrest, the other features of the seat do not justify its price. We ended up returning the seat.

We are very happy with the seat. The rack it comes with also works great for luggage without the seat. I was out biking today with my 32 lb son on back and he had a blast.

    Comfortable enough for a nap!

We love this bike seat. It is quick and easy to attach and is comfortable enough that my daughter actually napped in it for a portion of a bike ride at Acadia N.P. in Maine. We tried a bike trailer but found that it was too stuffy (because of the plastic side windows) and too low to the ground so that she couldn’t see well. The bike seat solved both those problems. Highly recommended!
