Our Review of the Dreamer Design Exec Lite bike trailer

Dreamer Design created the Exec Lite because they saw the need for an inexpensive double bicycle trailer that folds easily and goes anywhere. With its lightweight aluminum alloy frame and one-step folding mechanism, the Exec Lite is a good middle ground option for a bicycle trailer.

The included stroller kit helps you convert the Exec Lite in only a few minutes to stroll or tow.

For a comparable trailer, you might also want to check out the Schwinn Mark II . It is around the same price range and it also includes a stroller accessory.

Okay for very casual rides

Well, this trailer was great in the beginning, but did not hold up well. The nylon seats and bottom have stretched and there are a couple small holes where the kids' feet pushed the fabric against the ground. The clearance on this is way too low -- as time went by and the fabric stretched, the kids' bottoms were only a couple inches above the ground -- not good if there were a big hole in the road. And, the liner of the hitch sleeve wore out more quickly than it should have. Also, no way can it accommodate more than 60 lbs total. I think whoever designed this didn't test it with two children, or at least never left the driveway. If you want something that helps you ride your bike to the store with your kids, go on rides longer than 5 minutes around the cul-de-sac, etc., get something with a solid bottom. The fabric on this one just can't hold the weight of kids once they get to preschool age. Its ability to fold is useless when it's not really road-worthy.

very nice trailer, good seats. The kids like the trailer, but the trailer hitch does come off quite a bit and leaves me dragging the trailer around by the safety strap until I realize that it has come undone

Except for the hitch...

I recently purchased the Dreamer Design Exec Lite. I was looking for something that could switch from a bike trailer to a stroller, was light weight and had 20 inch tires with padded seats for the kids. The Dreamer Design Exec Lite had all of those things at a reasonable price and I am very pleased with it! My kids say it is "comfy" and ask to ride in it alot. The only thing that did not pass my test was the actual bike trailer hitch. It comes undone quite a bit no matter how hard I tighten it. But other than that, it is a very good buy.
