DOC – January 31, 2015:
I have owned a older model of this for years (it doesn’t have the option to raise the tow bar into the upper position).
I have loaded it with at least 100 LBs of gear in the past. I learned that it is important to learn how to balance the load so as not get a surge / pulse from the trailer when accelerating or hard braking.
I would suggest putting some tent water proofing on the fabric if you expect to be in extreme rain / snow conditions.
I’ve added a flashing light on the back, as well as a white reflector on the tow bar for low light conditions.
One thing I would recommend is to keep the hitch bar on the bicycle clear of dirt and rust. If you don’t, there is the possibility of when you remove the trailer of half of the tow bar plastic liner insert sticking / staying on the bar. I resolved this by wiping, sanding, then applying either grease or Vaseline before I attach the trailer. Since I’ve incorporated this procedure into my hook up modus operandi, all has went well.
When you learn how to use this trailer properly, I feel it is the best trailer option out there. So ppl prefer the single wheel trailers, but I have as yet to see a review or video that can sway me away from the the overall versatility of this trailer. !!!!
I LOVE this trailer so much, I intend to use if for long distance touring too !
